Windsor has been making residential door hardware in New Zealand since 1984. What separates it is the finishing, and the story behind that is better than most marketing. It started with the family dipping cabinet knobs in twenty litre buckets in the backyard and curing them in the living room. Four decades of refining later, the hand finished collection is still applied by hand.

What you get is hardware with depth and movement in the surface. Closer to a made object than a manufactured one, which is why it ends up on houses where the detailing is the point.

The range

Entrance hardware, door handles and levers, cabinet handles, sliding door hardware, window hardware, locks and latches, and door accessories.

It is a whole of home range, so a single finish can carry the entry, the internal doors, the joinery and the windows. There is also a made to order programme for anything outside the standard catalogue.

About the hand finishes

These are living finishes. Pieces vary. Two handles from the same order will not be identical, and the surface will continue to move with handling.

For most specifiers that is exactly the appeal. For a client expecting a uniform coating it can be a surprise, so set the expectation early. If someone wants every handle in the house machine identical, specify a plated finish instead and we will suggest one.

They are also genuinely hard to judge on a screen. Come and handle them in Palmyra before committing a whole project.

Lead times

Hand finishing takes time, so this is not a next day range. Get it on the schedule early rather than at fitout and we will confirm each line in writing.

Being the only WA stockist does have a practical upside here. We can hold stock against a job and stage it to your programme, which matters on a range that cannot be replaced at short notice.
